Project details
Kindergarten Sonneninsel
In the Kindergarten Sonneninsel, two large pivot doors crafted from solid spruce wood divide and connect the interior in a single gesture. When closed, they form a continuous wooden wall. Calm, tactile, and warm. When opened, they dissolve the boundary between rooms, creating one shared, flowing space.
The massive wooden panels, operated with FritsJurgens System M+, move smoothly and silently despite their scale. Their natural texture brings softness to the minimalist architecture, reflecting both craftsmanship and care, perfectly suited to a place built for children.
A pure expression of function, material, and movement.
